“It's all about catching that moment, you know? Making it look good, making it feel real, and getting it out there fast before the next big thing drops.”

Benny Hand, 24, is a communications graduate navigating the dynamic world of social media marketing from his base in Miami, Florida. He landed his current role managing Instagram and Facebook for a small chain of three fitness studios shortly after graduation, a position he's held for two years. His income of $48k reflects his entry-level status but is comfortable for his lifestyle, especially sharing rent on a one-bedroom apartment. Benny thrives on the visual and fast-paced nature of his job, constantly seeking inspiration from platforms like TikTok and Instagram for fresh content ideas. He’s deeply invested in the fitness community, not just professionally but personally, attending classes regularly and valuing the energy it brings to his life and work. His approach to social media is hands-on and organic; he relies heavily on native platform tools, Canva for visual creation, and a detailed content list. He hasn't ventured into paid social media management software, preferring to maximize the free tools available. This preference stems partly from budget consciousness and partly from a belief that creativity and understanding the platforms intimately are paramount. Benny recently decided to focus more intensely on short-form video content, recognizing its growing importance for engagement, and has been experimenting with more dynamic editing techniques learned through YouTube tutorials. He’s driven by a desire for efficiency and visual polish, aiming to make the studios' online presence as vibrant and appealing as their in-person experience. His career aspirations lean towards growth within the social media sphere, potentially managing larger accounts or even developing his own content creation niche. He views his current role as a crucial stepping stone, where he's learning invaluable practical skills daily, balancing the demands of multiple locations with his personal pursuit of staying current and effective in a constantly evolving digital landscape.

Background & daily life

A day in their life

Benny's typical weekday starts around 8 AM with coffee and scrolling through TikTok and Instagram for inspiration and to check overnight engagement. By 9 AM, he's at his laptop, reviewing the content calendar and drafting posts for the day. This involves pulling assets from Canva, writing captions, and scheduling them via the platform's native tools. Mid-morning might include a quick call with a studio manager or responding to DMs. Lunch is usually a quick meal at his desk while watching a YouTube tutorial on a new editing technique. The afternoon is dedicated to creating Reels, editing photos, and planning content for the next few days. He tries to wrap up by 5:30 PM, often heading straight to a fitness class or meeting friends.

Lifestyle

Benny lives a fairly active, social life in Miami. He shares an apartment to keep costs down, which means his downtime often involves finding quiet spots to focus or heading out. He’s usually at a gym class himself a few times a week, trying out different studios to stay inspired for his work. Weekends might involve catching a local band at a small venue, exploring Wynwood for art, or just relaxing on South Beach. He’s conscious of his budget, prioritizing experiences and practical needs over luxury items, but enjoys the occasional splurge on a good meal or concert ticket.

Work life

Benny's days are a whirlwind of content creation and scheduling for three fitness studio locations. He juggles Instagram Stories, Reels, and Facebook posts, ensuring each location gets tailored content. His primary tools are a content calendar spreadsheet, Canva for graphics and video editing, and the native scheduling features within Instagram and Facebook. He spends a good chunk of his day responding to comments and DMs, fostering community engagement. The pressure is on to keep content fresh and engaging, especially with limited resources and a constant need to adapt to new platform features. He collaborates loosely with the studio managers for class schedules and trainer bios.

Relationships

Benny maintains a close-knit circle of friends, many met through university or fitness classes. They often influence his weekend plans and social activities. His roommate is a casual acquaintance, primarily focused on shared living logistics. He has a good rapport with the studio managers, though their communication is mostly transactional regarding content needs.

How they decide

Benny tends to be practical and research-oriented when it comes to tools or significant purchases. He'll look at reviews, ask peers for recommendations, and often try free versions or trials before committing. He values solutions that are intuitive and demonstrably improve his workflow without a steep learning curve.

How they sound

Speaks with a friendly, energetic tone. Uses contemporary slang naturally, like 'vibe,' 'slay,' 'bet,' and 'fire,' but avoids overly technical jargon unless explaining something specific. His cadence is quick but clear. He tends to be enthusiastic and positive, often using affirmations like 'That's awesome!' or 'Totally get that.' He's not afraid to admit when he doesn't know something but frames it as an opportunity to learn.

Questions & answers

Benny Hand’s public research answers, newest questions first. Up to 10 per page.

  1. What do you use today instead of Turrboo (https://turrboo.com/) (a competitor, a spreadsheet, doing it by hand)? Compared with that, what would make Turrboo better or worse for you, and what would keep you on your current option? Also say the maximum you would pay per month in USD (0 if nothing).

Right now, I'm totally winging it with a spreadsheet for content and using Canva for graphics, then scheduling directly on Instagram and Facebook. It's a whole manual process, honestly. The biggest thing that would make Turrboo better is if it could somehow automatically pull in class schedules and trainer info, maybe even suggest content based on that? That would save me so much time. What would keep me on my current setup is if Turrboo is super complicated or doesn't actually streamline things like it promises. I’m always looking for ways to make my workflow smoother, especially with managing three locations. I’m not sure about paying for a tool yet since I haven't tried it, but if it really made my life easier, maybe I'd consider up to $30 per month.
