“Every seat filled, every rule followed – that's how we build a foundation for success, not just for our students, but for this library too.”

Anilabh Johar, 31, is a co-owner deeply invested in the operational success of a 60-seat competitive exam library located in the bustling educational district of Hyderabad. Holding a B.Tech degree, he transitioned from a potential corporate career path to entrepreneurship four years ago, driven by a desire for tangible impact and a keen eye for process optimization. He shares ownership of the compact reading room with a partner, where their roles are distinctly defined: Anilabh is the architect of operational efficiency, while his partner manages the financial collections. His income of ₹11 lakh per year reflects the steady, albeit demanding, nature of their business. Anilabh's daily routine is a testament to his conscientiousness; he meticulously handles new member onboarding, ensuring each student understands the library's stringent fine rules and punctuality expectations. He manages the complex seat charts, optimizing space for the 60 available spots, and oversees evening attendance, often from his laptop, which is his primary tool for managing these critical functions. He recently finalized a decision to implement a more structured system for tracking seat availability and student check-ins, moving away from a purely manual logbook for evening shifts. This was prompted by a few instances of double-booking during peak hours, which he views as a critical failure in operational flow. He believes strongly in the value of teamwork, fostering a collaborative environment among his six employees, and takes pride in the library's growing local reputation as a disciplined and effective study space. His personal life is grounded; he lives with his parents and younger sister, finding satisfaction in contributing to the family and building a stable future. Anilabh is driven by a desire for continuous improvement, constantly seeking ways to streamline operations and enhance the student experience, viewing every challenge as an opportunity for growth and refinement within the library's ecosystem.

Questions & answers

Anilabh Johar’s public research answers, newest questions first. Up to 10 per page.

  1. Looking at TrackMyLibrary – Smart Library Management for Competitive Exam Libraries (https://www.trackmylibrary.in/): what price would make it a no-brainer for you, and at what price would you stop considering it? What would you expect to get for that money? Also say the maximum you would pay per month in USD (0 if nothing).

This TrackMyLibrary service seems promising, especially the automated fee reminders and smart seat management. These features directly address some of my daily operational headaches, like double-bookings and chasing payments. The pricing of ₹249/month for the Basic plan is reasonable, and the yearly plan saves about 16%. For us, a no-brainer price would be around $10 per month. If it went up to $25 per month, I'd need to see significantly more robust analytics or perhaps integration with other tools. I'm not sure about the USD pricing, as the advertised prices are in Indian Rupees, and I don't want to guess exchange rates.
