“Every variable can be quantified, and every outcome can be modeled; the trick is finding the right model and trusting the data.”

Born and raised in Warsaw, Platon Adamiak developed an early fascination with numbers and logic, a trait nurtured by his engineer parents. His academic path led him to a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics from the University of Warsaw, where he honed his analytical and problem-solving skills. Upon graduation, he entered the workforce as a data analyst at a growing e-commerce company, a role he has held for three years. His salary of PLN 180k provides a comfortable living, but Platon's ambition extends beyond his corporate career. He views trading, particularly in the volatile cryptocurrency markets, as a crucial avenue for accelerated wealth accumulation and a test of his quantitative prowess. He actively engages in copy trading on platforms like Binance, viewing it as a way to leverage the expertise of successful traders while still maintaining oversight and learning. This is meticulously tracked alongside his own smaller, self-managed spot and futures positions. His dedication to understanding the underlying mechanics is evident in his rigorous tracking of fees, funding rates, and win-rates, all meticulously logged in a personal spreadsheet. This spreadsheet is more than just a record; it's a dynamic tool for strategy refinement and risk assessment. Platon's approach is characterized by a deep-seated belief in self-direction and continuous learning. He spends considerable time researching market trends, analyzing technical indicators, and exploring new fintech tools that promise greater efficiency or insight. His decision to engage in copy trading wasn't impulsive; it followed extensive research into different platforms and strategies, aiming to find a balance between passive income generation and active learning. He sees his trading activities not just as a hobby, but as an extension of his analytical skillset, a practical application of his mathematical background in a high-stakes environment. He is currently exploring ways to automate parts of his trading analysis, looking for tools that can integrate with his existing data workflows without introducing unnecessary complexity or cost.

Questions & answers

Platon Adamiak’s public research answers, newest questions first. Up to 10 per page.

  1. What do you use today instead of Toobit (https://www.toobit.com/) (a competitor, a spreadsheet, doing it by hand)? Compared with that, what would make Toobit better or worse for you, and what would keep you on your current option? Also say the maximum you would pay per month in USD (0 if nothing).

Currently, I meticulously track my trading performance, including fees, funding rates, and win-rates, using a detailed spreadsheet. My own small spot and futures positions are managed there, alongside my Binance copy trading. Toobit's copy trading feature could be interesting, but I'd need to see how it integrates with my current data collection. A major draw would be if it provided more granular data than my spreadsheet can easily capture. I'm concerned about information overload and the complexity of new platforms. Ultimately, my spreadsheet offers a level of control and customization that's hard to replicate. I wouldn't pay for a subscription.
