“Every minute in the gym, and every minute of a workout, needs to serve a purpose. If we're not measuring it, we're not truly improving.”

Navin Chaturvedi's journey into affiliate ownership was a natural progression from his passion for fitness and his innate drive for efficiency. After completing his MBA, he worked in operations management for a few years, honing his skills in process optimization and team leadership. However, the corporate world felt sterile compared to the vibrant energy of the fitness community he'd discovered through CrossFit. He saw an opportunity to merge his business acumen with his love for functional fitness, co-founding his Pune-based affiliate five years ago. He poured his savings and considerable energy into building a space that was not just about workouts, but about genuine community and measurable progress. His role as programmer is central to his identity at the gym; he meticulously designs WODs, tracks benchmark performances, and constantly seeks ways to refine the training methodology. He's an early adopter of technology that demonstrably improves operational flow or member engagement, evidenced by his use of a paid competitor timer to manage complex interval structures during peak hours. Navin views time as a critical resource, both for himself and his members, and is always looking for ways to maximize its impact. His income allows for a comfortable lifestyle, but he remains frugal, reinvesting profits back into the business and maintaining a disciplined approach to personal finances, driven by a long-term vision for growth and stability. He recently decided to invest in a more robust system for tracking member progress beyond just benchmark WODs, aiming to provide more personalized feedback.

Questions & answers

Navin Chaturvedi’s public research answers, newest questions first. Up to 10 per page.

  1. Looking at TiWOD (https://linkbe.app/tiwod): what price would make it a no-brainer for you, and at what price would you stop considering it? What would you expect to get for that money? Also say the maximum you would pay per month in USD (0 if nothing).

The real-time heart rate zone tracking and the WOD builder look promising for optimizing class programming and providing more detailed member feedback, which aligns with my goals. The ability to sync with existing heart rate monitors is also a significant plus. I'd consider it a no-brainer if it were around $10-15 per month for gym-wide access, covering all our members and coaches. Anything above $25/month for the gym, however, would make me pause and reconsider. I'm not entirely clear on the pricing structure for a gym versus an individual athlete, and whether it scales for a box of our size. My maximum for a comprehensive gym solution would be $50 per month.
