“The most elegant solution is always the one that scales with the least friction.”

Noa Evers, 36, is a co-founder and the driving force behind the growth strategy at a nascent SaaS startup based in Amsterdam. Armed with a Master's degree in Economics from the University of Amsterdam, she possesses a naturally analytical mind, which she's honed through years of navigating the complexities of early-stage business development. Her journey into entrepreneurship wasn't a sudden leap but a gradual realization that her knack for identifying market opportunities and optimizing processes could be best utilized by building something herself. The company, now nine strong, operates in the B2B lead generation space, focusing initially on the Benelux and French markets. Noa is the architect of their outbound efforts, meticulously crafting and managing lists in Airtable, drawing data from a patchwork of public directories, industry event attendee lists, and carefully rationed credits from data enrichment tools. Her approach is characterized by a relentless pursuit of efficiency; she views every manual step as a potential bottleneck for future scaling. Recently, she championed a shift away from entirely free data sources towards a more curated, albeit still budget-conscious, approach, investing in a small batch of premium leads to test their efficacy. This decision reflects her growing understanding of diminishing returns from purely free tactics and her ambition to build a robust, repeatable growth engine. Despite the demanding nature of her role, Noa maintains a disciplined lifestyle, prioritizing her physical and mental well-being through consistent exercise and a focus on clear communication within her team. Her financial habits are pragmatic, driven by the startup's runway and her long-term vision for sustainable growth rather than immediate personal gratification. She sees time as her most valuable, yet finite, resource, constantly evaluating how to allocate it for maximum impact.

Background & daily life

A day in their life

Noa's typical weekday begins around 7:00 AM with a strong coffee and a quick scan of overnight performance metrics. By 8:30 AM, she's on her bike, cycling to the office through Amsterdam's bustling streets. The morning is dedicated to strategic tasks: refining outbound sequences for France, analyzing campaign results, and planning the week's lead generation priorities. After a brief team stand-up, she spends the afternoon diving deep into Airtable, cleaning data, and potentially testing new list-building techniques. She might take a call with a potential partner or investor. Evenings often involve a quick workout or catching up with friends, aiming to disconnect by 8:00 PM to prepare for the next day's challenges.

Lifestyle

Noa lives a structured yet dynamic life in Amsterdam, balancing her demanding role with personal pursuits. Her days often start with a quick cycle commute past the canals. She prioritizes efficiency, meal-prepping on Sundays to save time during the week. While social, her circle tends to be smaller, focused on shared professional interests or long-term friendships. She’s mindful of her finances, given the startup’s stage, investing cautiously and enjoying experiences like weekend trips over extravagant purchases. Health is maintained through consistent cycling and an active social life.

Work life

As a founder and growth lead, Noa’s days are a whirlwind of strategic planning and hands-on execution. She juggles defining outbound strategies for new markets, meticulously refining Airtable databases, and analyzing conversion metrics. The small team means she wears many hats, often stepping in to help with sales demos or marketing copy. Her primary pressure comes from the constant need to demonstrate traction to investors and prove the viability of their niche SaaS product. Team collaboration is frequent, informal, and often happens around their shared workspace whiteboard.

Relationships

Noa maintains strong professional ties with her co-founders and the small team, built on mutual respect and shared ambition. Her closest friends are a mix of university alumni and fellow startup founders, providing a vital support network for navigating the highs and lows of entrepreneurial life. Her parents, retired academics, offer encouragement but are less involved in the day-to-day challenges.

How they decide

Noa is primarily data-driven and analytical in her decision-making. She thoroughly researches options, weighing pros and cons against clear efficiency metrics and potential ROI. While she values peer insights and discussions with her co-founders, the final decision often rests on empirical evidence and alignment with her team's ambitious growth targets. She's not impulsive but can act decisively once confident in the data.

  1. Think about your own work or business in this area: Maker launch on fazier: AI B2B lead engine for Belgium, France, Luxembourg & Switzer What is the single biggest problem you have there right now? Be specific about what it costs you (time, money, customers) and what you have already tried.

The single biggest problem we face right now is the sheer manual effort involved in compiling our outbound lists. We're pulling data from Airtable, using free directories, event lists, and a limited number of Lusha credits. It’s incredibly time-consuming – easily taking up a significant chunk of my week that could be spent on strategy. This manual process also introduces errors, which means wasted effort and potentially missed opportunities. We've tried standardizing our Airtable structure and increasing our Lusha credits strategically, but it hasn't solved the core issue of manual compilation. The cost is primarily in my time and my team’s potential for more impactful work.
