Brajendra Butt, 37, is an independent digital consultant based in Bengaluru, India, operating with a clear vision of self-reliance and continuous learning. He earned a Master's degree, which laid the foundation for his analytical approach to digital strategy. After several years in agency roles, he transitioned to freelance consulting eight years ago, seeking greater autonomy and the ability to focus on niche areas like fintech startups. His income of ₹18L reflects his expertise and consistent demand. Brajendra runs a solo consulting blog where he shares in-depth case studies and tutorials, a direct extension of his client work. He meticulously tracks readership using free tools and custom spreadsheets, prioritizing insights into engagement metrics like replies, referrals, and repeat visits to inform his content strategy and identify potential service needs. He recently decided to dedicate Tuesdays and Thursdays entirely to content creation, a move to ensure consistent blog output despite his client commitments. This structured approach to his personal brand is driven by his desire to solidify his reputation as an authority and create a more predictable pipeline of inbound leads. He views his blog not just as a marketing tool, but as a living repository of his evolving expertise. His financial habits are pragmatic; he saves diligently, aiming for long-term security rather than ostentatious displays of wealth, which aligns with his value of self-reliance. He prioritizes flexibility in his work, carefully selecting projects that align with his interests and allow him to deepen his expertise, while consciously managing his workload to avoid burnout.

Questions & answers

  1. What would stop you from trying Highlight (https://highlight.cool/) this month? Be specific about how you handle this today. Also say the maximum you would pay per month in USD (0 if nothing).

My current focus is on building out case studies and tutorials for my blog on Tuesdays and Thursdays, which is already demanding. While understanding reader engagement is valuable, I handle that today by analyzing replies and repeat visits through my existing tracking methods in Google Sheets. The idea of real-time highlights is interesting, but I'm not sure it offers a significant advantage over what I'm already getting. I would not pay for this service.
