““The best marketing isn't about shouting the loudest; it's about whispering the right thing at the right time, and doing it efficiently.””

Chitrali Ahluwalia, 29, is a driven growth marketer navigating the dynamic landscape of AI services startups from her base in Bengaluru. Armed with a Master's in Mass Communication, she found her niche not in traditional media, but in the fast-paced, data-centric world of digital growth. Her career trajectory has been marked by a relentless pursuit of learning and a knack for making the most of limited resources. She currently serves as the sole growth marketer for a burgeoning AI services firm, a role that demands immense versatility. Her days are a testament to her resourcefulness: she orchestrates everything from crafting compelling webinar pages and detailed case studies to curating engaging LinkedIn content and managing sales follow-up sequences. Her toolkit is lean but effective, heavily reliant on free AI prompts from tools like ChatGPT, meticulously organized within Google Sheets, and augmented by collaborations with a single freelance designer and the company's founder. This hands-on approach allows her significant autonomy, a value she cherishes, but also places immense pressure on delivering tangible, practical output. Chitrali is deeply invested in the startup ecosystem, constantly seeking out productivity hacks and refining her content strategy. She views her current role not just as a job, but as a proving ground, where every campaign, every piece of content, is an experiment designed to yield measurable results and propel the company forward. Her income of ₹18,00,000 reflects her specialized skills and the high-stakes environment she operates in, yet she remains grounded, prioritizing continuous learning and efficient execution over ostentatious displays of success. She is acutely aware of the rapid evolution of AI and sees it as both a challenge and an unparalleled opportunity to innovate within her field.

Background & daily life

A day in their life

Chitrali's typical weekday begins around 7:30 AM with coffee and a quick review of overnight campaign performance and industry news. By 9:00 AM, she's at her desk, tackling the most critical task, often refining AI-generated content for a new case study or drafting LinkedIn posts. Mid-morning involves a sync with the founder or designer. Lunch is usually a quick, healthy meal at her desk while listening to a podcast. The afternoon is dedicated to analyzing campaign data, experimenting with new ad copy variations, or building landing pages for upcoming webinars. She wraps up her workday around 7:00 PM, often spending the evening reading or planning the next day's priorities before unwinding.

Lifestyle

Chitrali maintains a disciplined yet flexible routine. Her mornings start with a strong filter coffee brewed at home, followed by a quick scan of global market news. She lives alone in a compact, well-organized apartment in Koramangala, valuing her personal space for focused work and recharging. Evenings often involve either a quick workout at a nearby gym or catching up with friends over dinner, though she prioritizes sleep to stay sharp. She's mindful of her spending, preferring experiences and skill development over material possessions, and diligently tracks her investments. Her social life is a mix of close-knit friends and professional networking events.

Work life

As the sole growth marketer, Chitrali juggles multiple hats. Her days are a whirlwind of content creation, campaign management, and data analysis. She works closely with the founder, who sets the strategic direction, and a freelance designer for visual assets. Her primary tools are Google Sheets for tracking metrics, ChatGPT for initial content drafts, and the startup's CRM for sales follow-ups. The pressure is constant to demonstrate ROI with limited resources, pushing her to constantly experiment with new, often free, tools and tactics. She spends significant time refining prompts for AI tools to ensure brand consistency and quality.

Relationships

Chitrali maintains a close relationship with her parents in Chandigarh, speaking to them weekly. Her core social circle consists of a few university friends and colleagues from previous startups, with whom she shares career challenges and triumphs. She respects her founder's vision but maintains professional boundaries, ensuring her marketing strategies are data-driven. Her freelance designer is a trusted collaborator, known for quick turnarounds.

How they decide

Chitrali is a pragmatic researcher. She thoroughly investigates options, often starting with free trials or freemium versions of tools. She weighs cost against potential impact, relying on data and peer reviews where available. Speaks with a clear, measured cadence, often using precise language. Her tone is generally professional but can become more informal and witty with familiar colleagues. Questions & answers

Chitrali Ahluwalia’s public research answers, newest questions first. Up to 10 per page.

  1. What do you use today instead of Mavic (https://mavic.ai) (a competitor, a spreadsheet, doing it by hand)? Compared with that, what would make Mavic better or worse for you, and what would keep you on your current option? Also say the maximum you would pay per month in USD (0 if nothing).

Right now, I'm mostly using ChatGPT prompts and Google Sheets to generate and organize content. Doing it "by hand" as you put it, means a lot of prompt engineering and manual refinement to get things on-brand. Mavic seems to automate that brand consistency piece, which is a huge time-saver. The "Brand Book" feature sounds particularly useful for ensuring our voice and visuals are spot on without constant oversight. However, the pricing isn't super clear for my needs; the "Solo" plan at $49/month might be too restrictive with only 1,500 credits. I'd need to understand how many credits are used per output and if that's sufficient for my volume. Without that clarity, it's hard to commit. My maximum I would pay is $100 per month.
