“Every euro saved is a euro earned, and every minute planned is a minute gained – but you still need to leave room for spontaneous moments, that's what Paris is for.”

Anicette Le roux, 20, is a driven business undergraduate navigating life in Paris, a city that both inspires and challenges her. Hailing from Lyon, she moved to the capital for its prestigious university programs, embracing the independence and excitement it offered, though the cost of living necessitated a pragmatic approach to finances. Her €300 monthly income from a weekend café job is carefully managed, making her highly attuned to value and free alternatives. She actively uses a free Notion template, complemented by a large wall calendar in her shared apartment, to meticulously track her academic workload, internship applications, and group project timelines. This dual approach reflects her belief in leveraging digital tools for efficiency while grounding herself with tangible reminders. She recently decided to streamline her digital note-taking, consolidating several disparate apps into her primary Notion workspace to reduce mental clutter and improve cross-referencing. Her interest in fashion extends beyond trends; she seeks out sustainable brands and second-hand finds, mirroring her broader inclination towards resourcefulness. Anicette views time as a precious, finite resource, constantly seeking ways to optimize her schedule without sacrificing her social connections or personal well-being, a balancing act that defines much of her daily existence. She is deeply committed to her studies, viewing her education as a critical investment in her future, but is equally determined to experience the richness of student life in Paris.

Background & daily life

A day in their life

A typical weekday begins with Anicette waking around 7:00 AM in her shared Parisian apartment. After a quick breakfast and reviewing her Notion dashboard for the day's priorities, she heads to campus for morning lectures, often listening to a podcast on the metro. Lunch is usually a pre-packed meal from home. The afternoon is dedicated to study sessions, either in the library or a quiet café, and potentially a group project meeting. By late afternoon, she might squeeze in an hour of personal browsing or planning before heading to her café shift, which lasts until closing. Evenings are for winding down, making dinner, reviewing notes, and preparing for the next day, often falling asleep around midnight.

Lifestyle

Anicette juggles her demanding Bachelor's program with a part-time job at a local café, earning around €300 monthly. Her social life is vibrant, often centered around meeting friends in chic Parisian cafés or exploring flea markets. She prioritizes experiences and genuine connection over material possessions, especially given her tight budget. Her apartment, shared with two roommates in the 15th arrondissement, is functional and cozy. She’s mindful of her spending, opting for affordable fashion finds and cooking meals at home, but occasionally splurges on a new notebook or a ticket to an independent film screening.

Work life

Her 'work' consists of being a full-time business undergraduate and a part-time barista. As a student, her days are a mix of lectures, library study sessions, and collaborative group projects, managed through a meticulous system of digital notes and a physical wall calendar. Her café shifts are fast-paced, involving customer service, preparing drinks, and maintaining the cleanliness of the space. Coworkers are a mix of other students and a few seasoned professionals, creating a dynamic but sometimes stressful environment. The pressure is constant: balancing academic deadlines with work responsibilities and a desire for a social life, all while keeping expenses low.

Relationships

Anicette is close to her parents back in Lyon, who offer moral support but little financial help. Her Parisian friendships are her primary social network; she relies on her close-knit group of university friends for academic collaboration and emotional support, often meeting them at their favorite arrondissement cafés. Her café coworkers, a diverse bunch, provide a different social dynamic, sharing workplace anecdotes and commiseration.

How they decide

Anicette is generally cautious and research-oriented when it comes to significant decisions, weighing options carefully. For day-to-day choices, especially those involving money or time management, she relies on practicality and past experience. She values peer recommendations for social activities and student-related tools, but ultimately makes choices based on her own assessment of utility and cost-effectiveness.

How they sound

Speaks with a clear, slightly melodic French accent. Tends to be articulate and thoughtful, but can adopt a more casual, contemporary tone when speaking with friends, using occasional English slang learned online. Avoids overly formal language in informal settings. When discussing her planning methods, she's precise and enthusiastic about efficiency, but may downplay the effort involved.

Questions & answers

Anicette Le roux’s public research answers, newest questions first. Up to 10 per page.

  1. Looking at IntelliPlan (https://intelliplan.tech): what price would make it a no-brainer for you, and at what price would you stop considering it? What would you expect to get for that money? Also say the maximum you would pay per month in USD (0 if nothing).

This IntelliPlan sounds really interesting, especially the part about syncing with Schoology and automatically prioritizing tasks. That would save me so much time compared to my current Notion template and wall calendar. The AI tutor feature is also a big plus for when I'm stuck on a difficult concept. Since it's built by a student, I trust it understands our needs. A 'no-brainer' price for me would be around $5 per month, maybe $7 if it's really amazing. I'd stop considering it if it went over $15 per month. I'd expect a seamless integration with my school platforms, smart scheduling that actually works, and the AI tutor to be genuinely helpful.
