“You've got to be able to track what matters, or you're just spinning your wheels.”

Calvin VonRueden has carved out a successful career in B2B sales, driven by a strong work ethic instilled from a young age. Growing up in a middle-class family in a smaller Illinois town, he learned the value of hard work and accountability from his father, a skilled tradesman. This foundation led him to pursue an economics degree at a state university, where he developed a keen analytical mind and an understanding of market dynamics. Upon graduation, he entered the sales world, quickly realizing his aptitude for building client relationships and closing deals. He spent several years honing his skills at a larger corporation before moving into his current role as a Regional Sales Manager for a mid-sized manufacturing firm. His success is built on a systematic approach to sales: rigorous prospecting, detailed follow-up, and a constant drive to exceed targets. He views his role not just as selling, but as solving problems for his clients. His personal life is anchored by his marriage and two children, for whom he strives to provide stability and opportunity. He sees his income and career progression as direct results of his efforts and commitment. While he values his autonomy and the mobility his job provides, he's also acutely aware of the time commitment required, often feeling the pressure to optimize every minute. He recently implemented a new system for tracking client interactions, consolidating notes from various sources into a more accessible format, a decision born from a particularly challenging quarter where a missed follow-up nearly cost a significant deal. This experience reinforced his belief in the necessity of robust organizational tools, even if they require a learning curve.

  1. What would stop you from trying Evernote (https://evernote.com) this month? Be specific about how you handle this today. Also say the maximum you would pay per month in USD (0 if nothing).

Right now, I'm using Outlook for my calendar and travel, OneNote for meeting notes and strategic planning, and a separate phone app for quick notes and contacts. Consolidating all of that into one system, especially with the AI features for transcription and meeting notes, sounds like it could save me a significant amount of time. The biggest hurdle would be the learning curve and ensuring it integrates well with my existing workflow. The biggest objection is the potential time investment to get everything set up and accurately transfer existing data. I'd be willing to pay $15 per month.
