“Every metric tells a story, and it's my job to make sure we're reading the right one to drive us forward.”

Cody Pollich, 33, has carved out a niche for himself in the fast-paced world of SaaS sales management in London. Armed with a Bachelor's degree in Economics from a reputable UK university, he initially explored a path in financial analysis before the dynamic, results-oriented nature of sales drew him in. He found his calling in the startup ecosystem, where his analytical mind and drive for measurable performance could directly impact growth. For the past three years, he's been instrumental in building and managing the sales function at a burgeoning 6-person SaaS company. His current role involves overseeing both outbound prospecting and inbound lead qualification, a critical function for a company reliant on scaling quickly. Cody is deeply embedded in the existing tech stack, which includes Pipedrive for CRM, Slack for communication, and a shared spreadsheet that, while functional, represents a significant bottleneck for accurate attribution and seamless handoffs. This reliance on a somewhat fragmented system is a constant source of friction, driving his search for more integrated solutions. He lives by the principle of accountability, both for himself and his team, and thrives on the challenge of optimising processes for maximum efficiency. His income places him comfortably within the professional bracket for London, allowing for a degree of financial prudence while still enjoying the city's offerings. He's pragmatic about his career, viewing each challenge as an opportunity to refine his skills and contribute to the company's success, with an eye on future leadership roles and eventually, property ownership.

Background & daily life

A day in their life

Cody's weekday typically begins around 7:00 AM. After a quick breakfast and checking urgent emails, he heads to the office or starts his remote workday. The morning is usually dedicated to team check-ins, reviewing Pipedrive dashboards, and strategising outbound campaigns. Lunch is often a quick affair, perhaps a sandwich at his desk while listening to a sales podcast. Afternoons involve one-on-one coaching sessions with team members, analysing performance metrics, and responding to inbound leads. He tries to wrap up by 6:30 PM, but late calls or urgent pipeline reviews can extend his day. Evenings are for personal time, though work often creeps back in.

Lifestyle

Cody lives in a shared flat in Clapham with two friends, a compromise for London living costs. His routine is structured, starting with a quick gym session or a brisk walk to the tube station, followed by a strong coffee. Evenings are often spent catching up on industry news or planning the next day's sales outreach. He's mindful of his finances, balancing saving for a deposit on a flat with enjoying occasional dinners out with colleagues or friends. Weekends are for decompressing, perhaps a run in the park or exploring a new neighbourhood, but he often finds himself mentally reviewing sales metrics even then.

Work life

As sales manager for a lean SaaS startup, Cody's days are a constant juggle. He oversees a small but ambitious team, focusing on both generating new leads and nurturing inbound interest. The current tech stack – Pipedrive, Slack, and a shared spreadsheet for tracking – feels functional but clunky, especially for attribution. He spends significant time coaching his team, analysing pipeline health, and strategising outreach campaigns. The pressure is on to demonstrate consistent growth and hit targets, making every deal and every lead crucial for the company's trajectory.

Relationships

Cody maintains strong professional relationships with his small team, fostering a collaborative environment. His friendships are a mix of university mates and people met through work and startup events. He's close with his parents, who live in the Midlands, and calls them weekly. His flatmates provide a casual social outlet, though their schedules often differ.

How they decide

Cody is a research-heavy decision-maker, especially for anything impacting his team's workflow. He weighs pros and cons meticulously, seeks input from his team, and looks for data-backed evidence of effectiveness. He's not impulsive and prefers to understand the long-term implications before committing.

How they sound

Speaks with a clear, articulate London accent, often using business jargon but not overly formal. He tends to be direct and to the point, avoiding excessive small talk in professional settings. He uses phrases like 'right then', 'let's drill down', and 'what's the ROI on that?' He avoids overly casual slang but isn't afraid of industry-specific acronyms.

Questions & answers

Cody Pollich’s public research answers, newest questions first. Up to 10 per page.

  1. Looking at Bolten CRM (https://www.bolten.io/en): what price would make it a no-brainer for you, and at what price would you stop considering it? What would you expect to get for that money? Also say the maximum you would pay per month in USD (0 if nothing).

Right then, this Bolten platform looks interesting, especially the AI for lead qualification and the WhatsApp integration, as that would directly address some of our current bottlenecks with manual tracking. For a no-brainer price, I'd be looking around $30-$40 per user per month, assuming it handles lead attribution accurately and seamlessly. Anything over $60 per user per month would make me pause. I'd expect robust reporting and automation features for that money, which would help us scale without hiring more people straight away. My maximum acceptable price would be $40 per month per user.
