“We're building something real here, and that means every detail, from the first pitch to the final report, has to reflect the quality we promise our clients.”

Aanandinii Khan, a 35-year-old MBA graduate, is the driving force behind Catalyst Creatives, a boutique marketing agency she founded seven years ago in Bengaluru. With a team of three, she specializes in crafting compelling marketing strategies for small to medium-sized businesses. Her entrepreneurial journey began after a successful stint in corporate marketing, where she identified a gap for agile, client-focused agencies. She thrives on the independence her role provides, allowing her to shape the company's vision and culture. Her income of ₹28L reflects the agency's steady growth, fueled by her relentless pursuit of client satisfaction and high-quality deliverables. Aanandinii's approach is deeply rooted in practicality; she believes in leveraging existing tools efficiently rather than chasing every new piece of technology. Her current workflow for client proposals, case studies, and handoff documents relies heavily on Google Docs, with manual exports to PDF and DOCX being a significant time sink. She recently invested time in learning and implementing basic Google Apps Scripts to automate some of the more tedious formatting, a testament to her resourceful nature and desire for efficiency. This decision, while saving precious hours, highlights the ongoing friction points in her operational processes. She is married and has a young daughter, which adds another layer to her time management challenges, pushing her towards solutions that offer both professional advancement and personal flexibility. Her financial philosophy is one of calculated reinvestment, prioritizing business growth and stability over immediate personal luxury. Aanandinii is driven by a desire to build a sustainable, reputable agency that consistently delivers exceptional value, making her a keen observer of operational bottlenecks and potential improvements.

Background & daily life

A day in their life

Aanandinii's day typically begins around 6:30 AM. After getting her daughter ready and having a quick breakfast, she heads to the office by 9:00 AM. The morning is usually filled with client calls, team check-ins, and reviewing ongoing project progress. Lunch is often a quick affair at her desk while catching up on emails. The afternoon is dedicated to business development – drafting proposals, refining case studies, and strategizing for new client pitches. She aims to leave the office by 6:30 PM to be home for dinner and family time. If urgent client work arises, she might log back on for an hour or two after her daughter is asleep.

Lifestyle

Aanandinii balances a demanding professional life with family commitments. Her days start early with a quick breakfast and getting her daughter ready for school. Evenings are dedicated to family time, often involving dinner and helping with homework, before she might log back on for a couple of hours. Weekends are a mix of catching up on work, spending quality time with her husband and daughter, and occasional social gatherings with friends. She prioritizes health by trying to fit in a brisk walk or yoga session a few times a week, though it's often a struggle. Financially, she's focused on reinvesting in her business and ensuring stability for her family.

Work life

As the founder of 'Catalyst Creatives', Aanandinii is deeply involved in client acquisition and project oversight. Her team of two handles execution, but she personally crafts the initial proposals and finalizes client deliverables. The current workflow involves extensive use of Google Docs for drafting content, followed by manual export to PDF or DOCX. She's recently implemented a few Google Apps Scripts to automate some repetitive formatting tasks, saving a few hours per week, but acknowledges it's a stop-gap measure. The pressure to deliver polished, professional documents quickly for new business and ongoing retainers is constant.

Relationships

Aanandinii is married to Rohan, a software engineer, who is her primary sounding board for business challenges. Her daughter, Anya, is her biggest motivator. She maintains a close circle of friends from her MBA program, with whom she shares professional and personal updates. Her team, Priya and Vikram, are highly trusted, and their input is valued, though ultimate decisions rest with her.

How they decide

Aanandinii is a pragmatic decision-maker. She thoroughly researches options, weighing pros and cons, and often seeks input from her team or trusted peers. She values solutions that offer tangible improvements in efficiency and quality, and is willing to invest if the return is clear, but she's not one to jump on trends without due diligence. She prefers tools that integrate well with her existing workflow.

How they sound

Speaks with a clear, confident tone, often with a slight South Indian lilt. Her language is professional but approachable, peppered with occasional English business jargon and Hindi colloquialisms when speaking informally with her team. She tends to be direct and articulate, avoiding overly technical jargon unless necessary. She uses phrases like 'absolutely', 'you know', and 'let's see' frequently. She avoids overly casual slang in professional settings.

Questions & answers

Aanandinii Khan’s public research answers, newest questions first. Up to 10 per page.

  1. What do you use today instead of ApiJolt (https://apijolt.com/) (a competitor, a spreadsheet, doing it by hand)? Compared with that, what would make ApiJolt better or worse for you, and what would keep you on your current option? Also say the maximum you would pay per month in USD (0 if nothing).

Today, my team and I are manually exporting documents from Google Docs to PDF. It's a significant time sink, especially when we're dealing with proposals, case studies, and client handoff documents. Your tool promises to convert various formats to PDF with just one API call, which sounds incredibly efficient. The idea of automating this process and eliminating the need for manual exports is very appealing. Compared to our current manual process, ApiJolt could be much better by saving us hours each week. It seems worse if the conversion quality isn't high or if integrating it proves more complex than the current method. The main thing that would keep us on our current option is if the pricing becomes too steep for our agency's budget. We're currently in the beta phase, which is free, and that's ideal. If paid plans are similar to the "Launch" tier at around $29/month for 10,000 conversions, that seems manageable for our needs.
